When friction goes unnamed long enough, it turns into patterns your team lives with every day. Jeff and Sheree introduce eleven of them, each one in the words operators use before they know it has a name.

You’ll leave with:

  • The eleven patterns friction turns into when nobody names it, in the words operators use for them.
  • Whether your team’s friction is starting trouble, carrying it day to day, or showing up as damage.
  • A one-page gallery of all eleven to share with your team.

Jeff Kahler

Founder & CEO

Jeff’s story starts in a pizzeria at fifteen. By eighteen, he bet everything and bought it. Decades of running businesses followed. In 2005, after running into the same training problems in his own stores again and again, he founded Ready Training Online, a training platform for frontline workers in convenience stores, restaurants, and retail. Twenty years later, he exited and turned Culture of Convenience into a full business services operation.

Jeff holds a master’s degree in friction, and he means it. Over four decades in business, he's created it, missed it, fixed it, and paid for it.

Today, he helps operators close the gap between the operation they designed and the one their team can deliver, before it costs them a customer, a team member, or another exhausting year.

Sheree Beissner started as a frontline employee and worked her way up over more than 45 years, most recently serving as Director of Training and Development at Cumberland Farms and EG America.

Along the way, she's built leadership development programs, shaped employee engagement strategies, and driven real organizational growth, informed by firsthand experience on the floor.

Today, Sheree serves as a Friction Discovery Specialist at Culture of Convenience, helping operators find and fix the friction hiding in their own businesses. Her approach is collaborative at its core, focused on equipping teams to thrive, not just comply.
